Complete kit for installing Carbon Fiber Staples to provide additional reinforcement for basement cracks in poured basement walls. Includes 30 Carbon Fiber Staples along with the needed accessories to allow for a successful installation for approximately 45 feet of crack.

This kit may be used in conjunction with the Emecole Metro 30 ft. DIY Foundation Crack Repair Kit when injecting with epoxy. The added installation of Carbon Fiber Staples while repairing a crack via low pressure crack injection of epoxy results in a super strong repair that protects the basement wall from further cracking.

Why are Carbon Fiber Staples Necessary?

The formation of poured basement wall cracks previously susceptible to ground movement or soil settlement are more likely to be structural in nature (in diagnosing structural cracks, they tend to be horizontal, jagged or stair-stepped).  In most circumstances, the low pressure injection of an epoxy, such as Emecole Metro 121 Fast Curing Epoxy, is the most effective solution for structural crack repair. The strong bonding capabilities of Emecole Metro 121 Fast Curing Epoxy fuses a crack back together, forming a strong and watertight repair.

For applications in which ground movement, soil settlement or freeze/thaw cycles continue to be a re-occurring situation, the added stress placed onto the foundation may result in the formation of new cracks around recently repaired injected cracks, or in rare instances, the re-opening of previously injected cracks. The long-term protection of the basement wall against such excess stress will require additional reinforcement measures.

The added installation of Carbon Fiber Staples, following the crack injection process, provides the necessary reinforcement strength to protect basement walls from the continued formation of structural cracks. When countersunk, Carbon Fiber Staples lay flat against the foundation leaving the wall with no obstruction. Carbon Fiber Staples will not rust or deteriorate. The wall can be painted over afterwards, providing a clean finished look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this product be used in the middle of winter or when the temperature outside is below freezing? What is the coldest (or warmest) temperature your product will work in?

The ideal temperature for the use of the materials packaged in this kit is between 40 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Assuming that the basement is heated, any outside temperature should not impact the performance of the chemicals  during the basement crack repair process. The only caveat is that chemicals should not be stored in freezing temperatures.

Will Carbon Fiber Staples be effective for bowed basement walls?
