Description

The Emecole Metro D-I-Y Pipe Penetration Repair Kit is equipped with all the necessary components, including Emecole Metro 120 Structural Polyurethane, to permanently repair leaking basement wall pipe penetrations via low pressure injection. Emecole Metro 120 Structural Polyurethane is a high strength and non-flexible material which self-expands up to six times its original volume upon injection into the basement wall pipe. This self-expansion allows for the void to be completely filled, forming a strong water and air tight seal. Unlike patches which only work temporary, this process provides a permanent solution that will not allow in water or soil gases, such as radon.

The included components with this kit provide enough material to repair one to two penetrations, pending width of the void(s).

    • One (1) universal cartridges of Emecole Metro 120 Structural Polyurethane injection material – inject using a standard caulk gun
    • One (1) universal cartridge of Emecole Metro 455 Odor Free Surface Seal
    • Four (4) corner surface ports
    • Two (2) 3/8″ x 24 static mixing nozzles
    • Two (2) injection hose assemblies
    • Two (2) retaining nuts and cross-over restrictors

Also included are rubber gloves, safety glasses, drop cloth, plastic trowel and written instructions.

Additional Components Required (Not Included)

  • Standard caulk gun (for injection of Emecole Metro 120 Structural Polyurethane)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do universal cartridges still contain Part A and a Part B materials?

Yes, Emecole Metro 120 Structural Polyurethane and Emecole Metro 455 Odor Free Surface Seal, packaged in universal cartridges for this kit, contains both Part A and Part B materials. Our universal cartridge is engineered to separate the two component materials horizontally. The two components properly are first mixed upon injection from the cartridge.

A repair to my leaking pipe was previously attempted with the use of hydraulic cement and has since started to leak water again.  Can your product still be used to rectify the previous repair attempt?

Yes. The use of this kit requires access to the actual void around the pipe, so a few extra steps will be necessary. The hydraulic cement should be removed by chipping and grinding in order to gain access to the void. There are some scenarios where this can become more complicated. For such situations, we advise you get in touch with an Emecole Metro technical support expert for additional ideas or workarounds.

Can this product be used in the middle of winter or when the temperature outside is below freezing? What is the coldest (or warmest) temperature your product will work in?

The ideal temperature for the use of the materials packaged in this kit is between 40 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Assuming that the basement is heated, any outside temperature should not impact the performance of the chemicals  during the basement crack repair process. The only caveat is that chemicals should not be stored in freezing temperatures.
